Flags and Banners

Worship arts at Redeemer Fellowship Church is a prophetic, visual, worship ministry. The most prominent tools we use on a Sunday morning are flags and banners. Banners and flags have been used for centuries as rallying points, especially for armies. We often use a flag that rallies the congregation to the message of the worship song we are singing. For example, we might use a flag that has in large bold letters FREEDOM, VICTORY, HOLY, or a symbol that represents the theme.

Another use for the flags and banners is in decreeing what God is doing and saying through the worship and the spoken word. It can also declare a truth as in Psalm 60:4 and Song of Songs 2:4. In each case something happens also in the spirit realm. As an army of worshipers our worship changes the atmosphere by welcoming his manifest presence. When we join with our worship team and the message that will be preached we unify God’s word to us through what is seen, what is heard and what we speak through song.
