Our Church is a Worship Training Ground...for Kids! Redeemer is a worshiping church! Redeemer trains kids to love God and to do great things in His Kingdom! These two declarations are absolute truth about who we are as a church. It's time to go to the next level in training our kids in worship: What is worship? How do we worship? Why do we worship? This is not a training to be done by a few teachers, but corporately and within our homes. Parents: You are the greatest mentors and models to your children about worship. Deuteronomy 11:18-19 instructs parents to teach their children about God's ways when we sit at home, when we're on the road, when we lie down and when we get up...that doesn't leave much down time and our corporate times of worship are not excluded! At Redeemer, we welcome freedom to worship with movement, flags & banners, singing, etc. But true freedom isn't chaos. Our children need to learn and embrace that these moments are for God's glory, not their own. Will you join us in training them to this next level? You can help by participating in the following: 1. Your child is welcome to come worship in the front, back or the sides of the sanctuary. If your child chooses to do this, we ask that you join them where they go so that you can help monitor and train them in these moments. Teach them to mirror your movements, to listen to and/or read closely the words that are being sung to God, and to match their worship movements to what they're singing. Help them to pay attention to the dynamics of the room - is it time for a joyful "noise" or is it time for quiet listening? 2. There are kid-friendly worship flags available in the Worship Arts area of the sanctuary. If your child would like to use a flag , we ask that you accompany them to pick one and then stay with them to help them use that tool in a safe and God-honoring way. If you would be interested in more ways that you can help teach your children about worship, please see Holly Collins or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
